Tune In: The Art of the Videogame Soundtrack

“Devil Trigger” is the battle theme for one of the game’s three protagonists Nero. “Devil Trigger” stands in stark contrast to the series norm with a sound that can almost be described as EDM. The song has an explosive, energetic attitude to it that matches the chaotic action associated with Nero’s fighting style. The female vocalist gives the piece an overall pop feel; however, under the surface, a solid hard rock base accompanied with hard rock backup vocals is reminiscent of songs from earlier games in the franchise. 

‘The Book of Boba Fett’ Seems Like a ‘Star Wars’ Filler

Temuera Morrison plays Boba Fett, and while his voice is instantly recognizable to fans, he isn’t the best choice to play Fett. While Morrison is a good actor and his voice fits the character well, he’s around 20 years older than Fett would have been in the show. Seeing Morrison move slowly and struggle with action scenes pokes holes in the aura Fett had.

The  much-admired (and emulated) Martin Scorsese, for one, is an outstanding auteur and easily one of the best directors  working today, yet he cannot rightly be ranked alongside the titans of the golden years when cinema was emerging as a serious art form: Akira Kurosawa, Stanley Kubrick, Alfred Hitchcock, Orson Welles, Ingmar Bergman, Jean Renoir, and the list goes on.  These masters were, and remain, larger-than-life legends.
